Actually, this is my lovely friend Hannah, whose senior pictures I had the honor of taking. :)
Since this was my first "real" senior I was kind of nervous about the whole ordeal, but Hannah was super duper easy to work with. Beforehand I actually Googled, "how to make seniors feel comfortable for photo sessions."
So professional. ;)

Not only did I get to spend the day with Hannah, I got a total body workout in too! Moving the grand piano, (it hasn't been moved really in years, so we had to get it out of the indentations in the carpet. That was loads of fun), climbing on stacked chairs, (the joys of being short!), standing on banister/railing things, squats, stair climbs... you name.  But it was fun. :)

We started at the Church, and then headed to 3rd. street, despite the freezing weather. It was SO COLD! It took me two whole days to finally warm up, and I was wearing a coat! I guess Hannah's tougher than me.

So, ladies and gentlemen, I give you, the beautiful Hannah. :)

Sorry this post is so late in coming. I actually took these in the beginning of January!

I guess you could blame it all on my dad... he just had to have surgery on his spinal cord didn't he? Kind of goofed our lives up for a bit.... ;)

Anyway, hopefully I'll have a post up soon of pictures from what's been going on around here. :)

J. Family Photos

I've found it's tricky to start a business in photography. You have to figure out what type of photography you want to do, then, if you're like me, you want to practice, but you have to have the people to practice on. And let me tell you, my family is not photogenic.
This is where friends come in! You may remember THIS post I did of J's newborn photos, well Mrs. J. approached me and asked if I would do their family pictures. Needless to say, I said yes. :) So I have now had the opportunity to do two newborn sessions, and a family. I shot a wedding as a second shooter, and I will be doing a friend's senior photos soon! I'm really looking forward to that!
If I continue to do photography as a side business, (maybe someday full time),  I think I would prefer to do engagements (and proposals!), but I'll figure that out somewhere down the road.

Anyway...A few pictures of the J. family.
Oh, and by the way, you can't tell, but it was actually raining on us when we did these. :) Fun.

Easily Amused

I have to admit, I'm very easy to amuse. Unfortunately it can be embarrassing at times, especially when you're at a theater and you sit there and laugh at a funny part long after everyone else has stopped.

Or when you're with a group of friends and someone cracks a joke, and you laugh so hard that you sound like a dying seal, which makes you laugh even harder. Then you continue with the silent shaking laugh and hope nobody notices. 

And I won't even mention what I'm like with less than five hours of sleep. Think....tipsy.

So, to the others out there like me, here are some of the things I'm finding funny at the moment...
