High Flight

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
AND DANCED THE SKIES ON LAUGHTER-SILVERED WINGS
Sun-ward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
File:TXF-16.jpg
Of sun-split clouds- and done a hundred things
You  have not dreamed of- wheeled and soared and
   swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along and flung
Up, up the  long, delirious burning blue
I'VE TOPPED THE WINDSWEPT HEIGHTS WITH EASY GRACE,
Where never lark nor eagle flew.
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God...

The Beauty of Flight

I have a fascination for airplanes. I don't know why, but there is something so cool about being way up in the sky looking down at everything beneath you. Well actually I have only flown in one once, and that was when I was one year old, but who cares!

I t would be so much fun to fly an F-16 (in my opinion at least), but I highly doubt that would ever happen. So I must be content to fly a little plane. Someday...

The picture above is probably what I will learn to fly. It doesn't look as cool...

Yes, that was random. :)

Name that movie

How good are you at quoting movie lines? In our family, we speak 'movie speak'. If someone says something in our house it is usually answered by a movie line. For instance: while eating dinner one night Mom said, "We should see how long we can go without saying a movie line". This is where someone pipes up, "Not that it shouldn't be done, it can't be done" Quote from 'National Treasure'.

Just leave a comment telling what movie you think these lines are from.

1.'One click, is to be answered by two clicks. '

2. 'NO tea! NO tea!'

3. 'A family trait I presume.'

4. 'You've got to be joking!'

5.'Lint. But don't tell them.'

6. 'I hope you're being careful of the drafts my dear.'

7. 'Well it must have been dark last night, because this is it!'

8. ' I must seek adventure! and roller coasters.'

9. 'I see you back there!'

10. 'Hold until relieved... hold until relieved...'

A new year

WOW! Is it really 2011! Where does time go?

2010 was a good year with lots of fun memories, and experiences. Did you know that if you put liquid soap into a dishwasher, bubbles start oozing out the sides? And if you try to rinse them out it just forms more bubbles?

Or that a sewing machine won't sew if it's not threaded?

Next week I start sewing lessons which I am really excited about. Meg got a book with World War two uniforms, and I am now determined to make a womens dress uniform. Mom and I are working on reading the bible in 90 days. One of my goals for the year is to be in the Word more, and so far it's going good. Meg and have been going walking up our hill lately. It feels good to get out and get some exercise, despite the 'cold eyes', ears, and noses.

A few favorite memories from 2010 would be:

~ The family trip we took to Seattle for a week
~Going hiking at Saddle Mt., and Drift Creek Falls

~Having an archery tournament at a friends house

~Going Lavender- Festing
and
~The time I wen't kayaking for a friends birthday

May God richly bless you and guide you this new year.
