The Menne Family Tree

It was time.

We bundled up in warm coats, hats, and scarves, and loaded up in the van to get the Menne Christmas tree.

As we pulled up to the Christmas tree farm, (or hatchery,  whichever you prefer), mom and I saw the tree. I swear angels sang when we saw it.
After a while of looking at other trees, we still thought that first one was just perfect, so we turned back around to show dad.

Isn't it just beautiful? :) :)

Folks, choosing a tree is no small task. And when you have eleven people trying to pick one, it's a bit of a challenge. Unfortunately dad wasn't super keen on this one, so the hunt continued...

This one was Audrey's pick. :)

I'm pretty sure we looked at every. single. tree. And there were a lot of trees.
Our plan was to get a tree with stronger branches like a noble, or Turkish Fir, since we have some heavy ornaments
But then mom pulled a little piece of a branch off of a, as we call it, smelly tree (Yeah, I know. Real classy). And as the smell of pine tree filled our noses, and angel voices filled our ears, we knew this was the kind of tree we wanted. Who cares if the pine needles fall more, or the branches aren't as strong. It smelled like Christmas.

After that it didn't take long until we found our tree (Which I'm smelling as I type).     :)

It looks kind of small here, but it's not.

Noah is such a big helper these days. :)

And what's a tree hunt without hot chocolate and candy canes? Maybe I'll post a picture of our decorated tree, but don't get your hopes up. :)

I know I haven't posted in quite a while, so I'll have to do some catching up. Life has been quite busy over here that's for sure!! It snowed last night and today, so hopefully I'll be sharing those pictures with y'all pretty soon.

Have a great day!!!

Thankful

Today, we remember those who serve and have served our great country.
It seems many take them for granted, these brave men and women who defend our country, and think, "It's just another job."
but these people have given so much for our country and our future generations.

They had to train hard to do their job and do it well. It takes a lot of commitment and determination just to finish Basic Training. These men and women did not quit when the going got tough.

They have had to be, and are , separated from loved ones

They have kept our flag flying.

I wish I could personally thank Every.Single.One of them, and let them know that they are my heroes.
So, if you are reading this, and have been, or still are, in the military, Thank you. You have my deepest gratitude, and YOU make me proud to be an American.

I would especially like to thank my Dad, and Auntie M. who both served in the Navy, both my Grandpas, (National Guard and Marines), and my big brother. who is currently in the Air Force.
I love you guys, and am so proud of you!

I thank my lucky stars,
to be living here today.
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can't take that away.

And I'm proud to be an American,

where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,

next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,

to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say....

That I'm proud to be an American,

where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

Yvonne & Dallas {Rehearsal + Wedding photos}

Last Saturday I had the privilege of being the second shooter for a friend's gorgeous wedding!!!!
God was so good, and gave us beautiful weather for her and her husband's special day.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself, (as usual), and had a great time dancing, taking pictures, and making new friends. Although I can't believe I forgot to get some pie. :(

Here are a few of the pictures I took. I'm still weeding through the rest of the six hundred pictures I took. ;)

The Rehearsal

The setup was soooo beautiful!  I was able to spend the night at a friend's house the day before the wedding, so I got to help decorate. :)

There were a few rounds of tears from the flower girl, but it all worked out in the end. :)

The Wedding Day

And they lived happily ever after...

Congrats Yvonne & Dallas!!!
