See ya

Well folks, I leave tomorrow for MO. :)

My suitcase, (which is HUGE), is almost packed, I just have to finish up a bit of laundry, then I'll be done. I told Cait I'd bring her the bowed psaltery, and I'm kinda regretting that. ;) I prefer to just have my camera bag to hold my snacks, iPod, etc., with a small carry-on, but this time we decided to ditch the carry-on in favor of a checked bag. Oh, the things I'll do for family...

Anyway,  just thought I'd say bye, and if I don't come back, it was nice knowing y'all. ;)

Just kidding. I'll be back.

I know y'all would miss me. :)

Life

Many of you are probably wondering if I've given up on this little cyber corner I call my own, but the truth is, I've just been too busy. I always miss posting, (not because my posts are anything wonderful), but because I love getting to hear from y'all. It always makes me so happy when I see that I have a new comment from someone. :)  So please, leave a comment! It doesn't have to be much, just a little smiley face, with your name signed at the bottom. Yes, even if you have no idea who I am, or were I live, you can comment. :)
Maybe I should go on strike....no posts unless you introduce yourselves.... ;)

Aaanyyyywaaay...I'll stop my sales pitch now.

So, some of the happenings around here...

  • I've probably mentioned it already, but when Cait left she passed her Micro Green business off to me, and so far, considering the fact I have a brown, (or maybe I should say black?) thumb, it's going pretty well. :)

  • Speaking of Cait, she came for a quick visit in February so we could meet "her guy", Richmond. ;)
  •  The day before dad's surgery we went on a tour of our local Fire Dept.

  • Dad had the nerve to have a tumor growing on his spinal cord. Sheesh. some people have no consideration for lives of others... Seriously though, he's doing great! He put up our new canopy a few days ago which required a lot of ladder climbing, (though he kinda regretted it later), and went back to work a few days ago.

  •  March 28th I was able to attend a Parakaleo day, (think all day bible study), with some friends, and it was such a wonderful time of encouragement! Although it did start entirely too early, and I don't do so well with early mornings. I was so tired that during lunch, while everyone was quietly eating, I started laughing hysterically for pretty much no reason. And once I start laughing I don't stop. The girls probably now think I'm insane. But, one of the times when I started laughing was because something funny did happen. After we cleaned lunch up, we decided to take some of the food upstairs so we could munch while we studied. (Can't think on an empty stomach!). So, forgetting about the dog at the house we were at, C.J. carried up the rest of the muffins I made, (which were quite yummy I must say). A few minutes later she came out of the room we had taken over for our study with an absolutely horrified face and an empty plate. The dog had eaten the rest of the muffins. -_-
I laughed, and laughed and laughed. Then I sat down and laughed some more, until I had tears streaming down my face. Just thinking about it makes me chuckle. :) Good memories...

  • The day after that was a crazy day. We had some friends over for lunch in honor of 'Peanut Month', and shortly after they left we had to leave to clean our Church. I was also attending a ball that evening, which started at 6:30, and we didn't finish cleaning until 4-ish. There wasn't enough time to go home, get changed, then turn back around for town, so our friends who had come for lunch let me go to their house to get ready, and even dropped me off! Usually it takes me like five minutes to put my hair up, but you know what they say: If it can go wrong it will. It took me almost an hour to get my mop of hair put up in a "decent" do.
For this ball the theme was "Kings and Queens". Or if you didn't want to dress up, just come formal. So, I did it. I bought a formal dress. I'd never worn anything like it in my life before, so it was a new experience. A very enjoyable one though. :)
I found my dress at New To You, and it was originally strapless, and a bit too big in the top. There was noooo way I was going to wear a strapless dress. So, with a bit of help from a friend, I was able to take in the sides of the top, add thin straps from some satin ribbon, and then I made a bolero.
I'm very pleased with the end results. :) And my dress has sequins on it. :)

Here's a very blurry picture of myself and some friends from that night.
In case you were wondering, I'm the short one. ;)

  • I'm leaving for Missouri in two weeks. :) I'm going to visit Cait, (Gotta check up on her and Richmond ;) ) and will be gone for almost six days. :) If you think about it, please pray that I won't miss any of my flights! This is only my second time flying, and the first time doing it by myself. Yikes!
It should be a fun trip. :) We're going to have an air soft war, (and these wars aren't small affairs. Everyone is in camo, with big guns, and it lasts almost all day. I'm very excited. :) ), go cosmic bowling, (which happens to be on my bucket list), possibly canoeing,  and just hang out together. Yes, there will be pictures when I come back. :)

  • My dad shaved his head to help cancer research. :) You can go here ---> St. Baldrick's to donate.

  • While waiting for our shavee, I had my picture taken with Iron Man. :)

  • Meg and I saw 'God's Not Dead' with some friends. :) I personally thought it was very good.

I don't know about you, but I am soooooo glad spring is here!!! I'm definitely a warm weather kind of girl. :)

I've been so busy lately, that's it's taken me three days to do this post. And actually, I have a few other things I have to get accomplished today, so i'll sign off now. :)
Toodle pip and cheerio!
