In His Time...

For a while now I have been looking for a dog. I wanted something small. Something that was hypoallergenic, that I could walk (not something that would walk me), and that could curl up with me in my bed. So, I started hunting on Craigslist for one back in January. I looked at Shih tzu's, Labradoodles, Cocker Spaniels, Maltipoo's, Havapoo's, and a bazillion other different breeds.

First, I e-mailed about a cockapoo, but they didn't answer. So I called them. She was gone.

Okay, no problem I'll keep looking.

Next I emailed about a Shih Tzu. She was gone.

"Dear God," I prayed, "if you want me to have a dog I know that you will provide one"

Then, I emailed about a Lhasa Apso, and guess what? Yep. He was gone.

I also e-mailed about a pug/Lhasa Apso mix ( I know it sounds weird but it was adorable), a Lhasa/Shih Tzu mix, a Cocker Spaniel/ Daschund mix, another Shih Tzu puppy, another Lhasa Apso, six different Yorkshire terriers, a Labradoodle. and three Goldendoodles.

All of them were gone.

What was going on?!?!

"Lord what are you doing? Am I not supposed to have a dog?"

I e-mailed about a couple more dogs, but still nothing.

Then In March, on a Saturday night at 10:10, While on Craigslist, I found an ad for two Shih Tzu/ Bichon mix puppies.

It was to late to call then, so I decided to call early the next morning.

Once I got up I went to get the phone number, but the ad was gone!!!
ARRRRGHHH!

I was getting just a smidgy discouraged by this time, when mom suggested I call anyway. So,
I went to my history on the computer, found the ad, and nervously dialed the number.

No one answered, and instead of leaving a message, I hung up. I took a deep breath and tried calling again.

Someone answered!!!
My voice wavered as I asked if they were still available.
Yes, they were!

I was so close to yelling into the phone: I'M COMING TO COME GET THEM! DON'T LET ANYONE ELSE COME!!!!

But, I restrained myself, and calmly told him that we would like to come take a look at them. Dad and I loaded up in the truck and set out on our quest.

Upon reaching our destination we were greeted with small yelps from the back yard. The Owner brought them both out and introduced them to us. Their names were Shadow & Dash. They were very playful, and both began to jump up on us, begging for attention.
Man, was it hard to choose which one we wanted to take home! So hard, in fact, that we brought both of them home!
The Lord provided not one, but two dogs. :)

We have re-homed one of them to some friends at church, and now just have Dash who we have re-named Brody.

Christ makes all things beautiful in HIS time...

A Sister and a Camera

Me: Cait! Quick! Lets run and get some pictures while the light is still good. I'll give you ten minutes to find something different to wear, and change. Never mind. That shirt will work. Actually that skirt will work too. Okay, now find some shoes. I'll let you wear your boots. Just go take your hair down.

Meanwhile Cait grumbles (not so much to herself) about the whole ordeal.

Me: Stand HERE! Now, lean against the barn. No not like that. Like THIS. OK. Now, fold your arms behind you and scooch your heels back. That's great!

 Scene Second

Me: Give me a smile.

Cait gives fake cheesy smile.

Me: Lose the cheesy smile.

Cait: I'm not giving you a cheesy smile!

Me: Yes you are. Can you laugh for me? I really need you to laugh. Like a bust your gut kind of laugh. :)

Cait: I can't just laugh.

Me: Well, what makes you laugh?

Cait: Ummmmmm...

Me: Never mind.

Scene Third

Me: Allllright.... Lets have you sit on the ground. Good. Look away from me, now bring your face towards me just a tiiiny bit. Perfect. Give me a little smile. Now bigger. bigger. BIGGER! Beautiful. Look down. Love it. :)

Now I want you to look away. Then SWING your head around. But I need you to stop once you are looking at me. Oh, and I need you to smile.

Cait:WHAT!??? Ok.

enter head swing

Me: hahahahahaha!!!! That didn't work. try again. Hahahahahaha! I'm sorry, but you looked hilarious!

We both look at the pictures and laugh.

Cait: Ha! now its MY turn to take pictures of YOU!  I don't know how to pose you, so pose yourself.

Me: ummm... how's this?

Cait. Sure. that's good. Now SMILE. :) :)

Me: How do you expect me to smile with that thing aiming at my face???

Cait: Hehe. now you know how I felt.

The picture below is the only one of me decent enough to post on here. I wish I could blame it on Cait's photography skills, but its probably just because they have me in them. :)

after much climbing on fences, and all that uncomfortable stuff that one has to do for pictures, we again switched places.

Me: {grabs camera and starts to sing Bryan Adam's 'This Is Where I Belong'}
Ahhh... That's much better

{Clicks Shutter}

LOVE IT!

PERFECT!

Tilt your head just a little more.

THERE WE GO!

Look down... BEAUTEEFUL!

We had lots of fun (in case you couldn't tell) and I think we should do another shoot tomorrow. :)

Portraits & The Ceremony

Were you starting to think I wasn't going to post anymore pictures from the wedding?
I was.
Lately I've been occupied with two small fur-balls that have taken residence over here,  but I'll save that post for another day. :)
So, without further ado, on to the wedding!

I always thought that we had a large family. Then I met Katie's, and decided that we are a small family.

Thanks Ryan, for taking some pictures for me. :)

                                     The Bridal Party

I told Katie's sister that I wasn't going to cry, but when Chris and Katie gave roses to the mothers, guess what I did? Yep. I cried.

"Yay! We're finally married!"
